GSC 2018-2019 Events Calendar

The GSC House Committee is excited to announce our social events calendar for the upcoming season! You'll notice that the opening party is a little later and the closing party is a little earlier than usual this year. In our constant battle with Mother Nature & State tournaments we have changed our 2 largest social events of the year to ensure as many members as possible can attend the party! We'll be sending a separate email for each event with RSVP instructions.

If you are new to GSC, these are the best events of the year! Food trucks, chuck-a-puck, zamboni races and more! We kick off the new year with our annual shoot out and NHL winter classic party. Curling made it's GSC debut last season and will continue this year with a full season of late night times to play! Don't worry if you haven't played before, It's a night of fun for adults and friends!

This year we will designate a Game of the Week and Player of the Week at a GSC home game. We encourage members to turn out and cheer the team on. Game music, BBQ and other special pre-game action will make it a fun 'Hockey Night at GSC' for families and friends.

GSC Hockey Equipment Exchange

Do you have a garage full of hockey equipment that's too small? Good!

It's the annual GSC equipment swap weekend, Friday and Saturday, September 8th & 9th from 9:00 am to noon at the club. This a great way to pass along equipment to the hockey community. Members of the GHS boys and girls hockey teams will be on hand both days to help with sizes!

´╗┐ What we need: Skates, Gloves, Helmets, Shoulder & Elbow Pads, Pants, Shin Guards.

The sale is open to any hockey family in the area regardless of whether you are a Wing, Blue, Tiger, Bruin or Cardinal! We ask that you drop off any equipment you no longer need that is in good condition to the club by Friday, September 7th. Please spread the word to the hockey community about this great event!

Proceeds from this years event will support the Greenwich Middle School Challenge to take place in March of 2019, the Town of Greenwich House League as well as the long over due center ice logo installation at our 'home' indoor rink, Dorothy Hamill Arena.

Refreshments will be available so stop by
and say hello to the club staff and high school hockey captains!

Mites, Mites Baby!

Did you know that the Mites program at GSC has the highest participation of any age group? Lead once again this year by Harry Schwefel, the Mites will have 5 teams with over 50 boys and girls learning to play hockey. We are incredibly lucky to have Harry involved with hockey development at the club. He has built a program featuring a coaching pool of nearly twenty former Division I collegiate hockey players and he has designed practices so that all of our young players get exposed to as many experienced coaches as possible. This will establish a solid foundation for our youngest players as they grow and develop their careers here at GSC.

ABOUT HARRY SCHWEFEL
